After a slam-bang start of India's tour to New Zealand followed by the historic one-day series win, it's time for the real 'Test'. New Zealand are a tough side to beat in their backyard like any team is on its own soil.

India and New Zealand have played 44 Tests against each other since 1955 out of which India have won 14, Kiwis 9 and 21 Tests were drawn.

New Zealand may lead the overall statistics but when it comes to batting, Indian maestro Sachin Tendulkar is up there. He has played 16 Tests and accumulated 1062 runs at an average of 48.27.

While some of the batsmen from the current team have played against New Zealand before, bowlers are comparatively inexperienced.

Rahul Dravid (180) needs two catches to overtake Mark Waugh's tally (181).

"We can take a bit of momentum (Last ODI win) into the Test series. It's going to be a massive challenge with (Sachin) Tendulkar, (Rahul) Dravid and (VVS) Laxman coming back into the mix" - New Zealand skipper Daniel Vettori.
