Holi In Pics:
Blanch and peel the almonds. Soak all the ingredients except sugar in water for about four hours. Grind into a fine paste.
Clean the urad dal and soak in water for two hours. Drain and grind to a fine paste, adding a little water if required.
Rub 1/4 cup ghee into the flour and knead into a stiff dough with water. Leave to rest for at least half an hour.
Wash and pressure cook the dal in 1 1/2 cups of water. Drain excess water and keep aside.
Bhang Ke Vade
Soak sugar in ? litre of the water and keep aside. Wash and clean all the other dry ingredients.
Boil the milk in a wide, heavy-based pan and then simmer over medium heat.
Bhang Ki Pakori
With the ingredients for the batter, make a batter of dropping consistency.
Mix potato, ghee, and salt into the atta, and rub well.
Mix the thymol seeds, salt semolina and flour together and rub the clarified butter.
Soak the urad dal overnight and grind it to a smooth paste.
