| | Their name mean 'eagles' and they are the Special Forces of the Air Force. GARUD's are trained to search & rescue in the most hostile environment. They also guard Air Force stations against all dangers. |
From the cockpit in the aircraft to the snakepit in the jungles - the pilot must use both effectively, as Rocky & Mayur trained themselves to observe. They spend time with IAF pilots at the Jungle and Survival School, as the cadets train to live off the land. The duo wonder if they would survive such a breakfast, lunch and dinner that's on offer. In order to stay fit they decide against skipping any meals. |
Combat Army Aviation Training School is part of the new age army, finds out Rocky & Mayur. What food sustains them, on ground and in the air, as they train to a grueling schedule that looks deceptively easy. But is the cooking and cuisine also the same? Rocky & Mayur answer the question. |
The Guards is an elite and much decorated formation. Rocky and Mayur join the officers and men as behind the pomp and the glitter the Officers lead the Jawans to train for all situations and to meet contingencies in war and in peacetime too. This triggers their appetites and the two can't wait to check out what’s on the plate. |
Rocky & Mayur are on board the INS Mysore a lethal Destroyer patrolling the oceans. Far from home and shore, ready to do its job. Destroy. Rocky & Mayur want to help. They are demolishing their generous food rations. |
Speed, silence, work, cramped in a steel cigar, a hundred feet below the waves. You are inside the Navy submarine INS Sindhughosh ready to thwart intruders trying to sneak in undersea. Rocky & Mayur chomp quietly, so as not to give away their position at the lunch table. | | | |

| | It's Tough Being Tough Rocky Singh The night is still and silent. Somewhere out in the Arabian Sea lurks an enemy come to destroy strategic targets on Indian soil that will reduce the efficiency of our nation to wage war. |

| | Rocky Singh was born at the Military Hospital in Jaipur where his father, Maj. Amarjeet Singh Hundal, was posted and serving with the 20th Lancers before moving to the 72 Armoured regiment. He was killed in action in the 71 war leaving behind a legacy of great pride and honour. His grandfather fought World War II in Iraq and Burma. Rocky is a product of a flat out military family, growing his hair long was always an issue and not jumping out of bed at the morning Reville (Bugle) is an old habit. He still considers himself an army of one and frequently goes to war with cuisine across the planet taking on all comers. His family are still all serving career soldiers, and he still sometimes feels the urge to enlist, really, he does .… JAI HIND. | |

| | Mayur Sharma is the son of a retired Indian Air Force officer so amongst other things he can make his bed with a craftsman's precision and shine his boots to a mirror finish. Mayur lost his uncle a young officer in the Indian Navy in the 1971 war and his family takes pride in this sacrifice. He is inspired by the passion, commitment, discipline and shared camaraderie demonstrated by each and every member of the Indian Armed Forces he has been fortunate enough to meet (and eat with) during the making of Jai Hind'. In turn he hopes they are inspired by the single minded focus he brings to his calling...food :) | |
