| | Let’s shoot in Shimlaaaaaa..aaaaachoooo! Paras Tomar Let’s shoot in Shimlaaaaaa! aaaaachoooo! So it begins! I’m gravely unwell.
If you ask me, "Paras what did you see in Shimla" my response would be, "Uhh the inside of toilets in restaurants, hotels, houses...but yes, mostly toilets." Knowing fully well that my stomach is a whirlwind of surprises waiting to unleash, we leave out hotel early to drive nearly two hours to the Home of the Singhs in Baldeyan. |
Sultan and Daisy - Proud canines of the Chadda family Paras Tomar It's my first time shooting with the team of Heavy Petting in Shimla (Paras screams yay!). It's good to be back in my hometown, on familiar ground, away from the Mumbai heat in a season that’s been particularly hot! Oddly enough even for the local Himachalis this is oddly cold (I credit that demon called global warming). |
Animals can bring out the very best of human emotions Paras Tomar One would imagine that a Cuffe Parade house, with its sky rocketing real estate rates in Mumbai would be a highly improbable place for three dogs, but that hasn’t stopped Rushail and his family from extending their home to Michele, Bacardi and Diesel. |
Fun moment - Behind the scene Paras Tomar Now this is the part that you won't get to see on the episode, we try m keep it family viewing, but the funniest was when the team and I were shooting an anchor link and right under my nose the Alsatian decided to, let’s use say, mount rani. |
No smokey without fire Paras Tomar Almond oil, Green Tea, home made chocolates, cinnamon and oh yes Dogs! While traditionally Coonoor may have been famous for all these things, modern day Coonoor brochures need to put just one man's face on them. David. |
3 beautiful Dalmatians - Sugar, Spice and Cocoa Paras Tomar Spice and Sugar must have been in love at some point. Spice has a robust built and sugar has the quiet grace that any lady would. No wonder there were fireworks when the two met. A few tail wags and some doggy drools later, Cocoa was born! I may be paraphrasing, ofcourse! |
Varun and his big family of 11 dogs Paras Tomar Varun has a beautiful home. It’s the size of a small Island nation and he is the undisputed emperor. His subjects, read 11 loyal dogs, come in a variety of sizes and shapes yet have one thing in common. Their love for the grand master. |
Three dogs who add the “woof” factor Paras Tomar "The Coelho household is the very first episode for which I join the team of Heavy Petting. Over the years the team has traveled the length and the breath of the animal kingdom to get up close and personal with all sorts of creatures. |
Adopting a pet Rajat Handa "Whoever said you can't buy happiness, forgot about little pups." Kindness and humanity are synonymous to all animal lovers who have limitless place in their hearts for their pet companions.

Meet Flash! Dabboo Ratnani The star and celebrity! I'm talking about Flash. He's as famous or maybe more famous than I am! Flash has had a photo-shoot with the biggest stars – from Mr Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai, Abhishek Bachchan, Salman Khan, Hrithik Roshan...you name it he has had a picture with them! |
Roofus - A man among dogs! Cyrus Brocha So you want to meet my dog, my family? The First Rule – My wife is not friendly! Don't worry about the dog, beware of the wife! Let me introduce you to Roofus, a man among dogs! It's the worst thing I could say about him.

Winner of the Tales & Tails contest is Pranab Sharma from Pune.
He tells us about his Labrador, Rufus, who he got as a gift on valentine’s day. Pranab writes “ I fell in love with Rufus the instant I saw him, but my parents didn't quite accept him initially. However, now they not only love him but also make sure to video chat with him regularly." Pranab goes on to say, “once on a rainy day a friend dropped in to my place completely drenched. He removed his shoes and headed straight to the washroom, without petting Rufus. By the time he came out, Rufus had chewed off his shoes in anger!! Well, as they say, hell hath no fury like Rufus scorned.

This week's winner of the Tales & Tails contest is Gunjan Pande from Goa.
She writes to us about her brave 6 year old dalmatian, Zia. Gunjan says: One night when Zia was only one and a half years old, I was woken up in the middle of the night by strange sounds coming from our backyard. I picked up a bamboo stick and went to see what was happening. As soon as I reached i saw Zia tugging at a man’s ankle, and barking ferociously even while the man was throwing stones at her. Soon a crowd gathered and we caught hold of the person only to discover that he was a thief trying to climb the water pipe. The police was immediately called in and soon Zia became the resident hero of our colony and all our hearts.

Tales & Tails contest winner - Jayant Mishra from Bengaluru.
He tells us about his lucky boxer, Monty. Jayant writes “ Monty sure is the privileged child of the house. He likes to sleep with me, pushes me to a corner every night, and most nights impersonates a mosquito repellant!
Monty loves chicken. In fact when the bird flu hit Bengaluru last month, he almost had a nervous breakdown!! He is also health conscious. He goes for walks precisely 4 times a day. He doesn't wear a watch, yet functions like clockwork.
He fights, gets angry, throws tantrums…yet in the night comes right into bed, and hugs me to sleep!

In loving memory of Casper
From: Aditi Tandon
Casper passed away yesterday after a brief illness of 10 days at a young age of 7.5 years. We are beyond heartbroken specially my parents for whom he was a child when their own children had left home for further studies. In all our years of having pets, we never had a more gentle and beautiful soul. Even visitors admired his good nature and when we went for walks in the colony, people would stop and compliment on his good looks. Throughout his suffering not once did he whimper and till the end wagged his tail when he saw family.

This picture of his was taken on the top of the stairs near our entrance and this was one of Casper's favorite places-. Sitting right at the top he could see which of the family member was coming and run down at a gallop to greet them.
We were very lucky to have him.
