The most famous restaurant in Africa, Carnivore, has been on top of the food chain of the restaurant business for the past 25 years, thanks to its exotic dishes. Known for their meat-lovers menu, entertainment and signature drinks, a visit to Carnivore is an all-night affair.

A major part of the night is taken up just choosing which meat to pick! On the menu you have exotica like -- the African crocodile and ostrich.

If you are a vegetarian, not to worry, there's plenty going for you too. The place is an entire experience in one compact unit. You have curio and souvenir shops for your takeaway memories and you have your dining area as well...so it's a really interesting place to come to.

The service here is quite unusual. On every table there's a white flag. When you are ready to eat, you raise your flag and the waiter arrives in zebra-stripe aprons and straw hats waving huge Maasai spears with dripping hunks of meat!

He will tell you what the meat is, plonk the end of the spear on your plate and carve it generously for you. Hey, that's not all, you are served on sizzling cast-iron plates!

When you enter the restaurant, the first thing you notice is the spectacular open fire pit where all the meat is cooked over coals, skewered on traditional Maasai swords.

At this meat-lover's paradise, typically everything revolves around the central roasting pit...a perpetually burning furnace where an endless supply of meat is turned in, smoked in and grilled to perfection!

Carnivore is also famous for its house cocktail called Dawa which boosts the appetite for the moving feast ahead!

Dawa means 'medicine' in Swahili and is served by a medicine man called Dr Dawa!

In this eat-as-much-as-you-can restaurant, the feeding frenzy doesn’t stop until you '”surrender” literally by dropping the white flag of defeat at your table! After that you are served dessert and Kenya coffee.
