If you dream of sashaying down the ramp in a JJ Valaya or a Rohit Bal outfit then read on. The supermodel sisters Tapur and Tupur Chatterjee, known for their sculpted look and their versatility with Indian and western forms share tips on how to be the pin-up girl. "To be a supermodel you need to adorn different looks and features," says Tapur. Being in sync with current fashion trends always help. Tupur adds, "plus you have to be tall to walk the ramp, have a good bone structure and body language though of course body language can be worked on. It's all about experience. You need to have a personality of your own because that is what stands out the most."
There is more to it than just god-gifted looks, Tapur proffers, "confidence is the key. You need to work hard 24/7 to groom yourself. You need to observe other models at work and learn from them. And looking good is definitely a must." And if you are wondering how to achieve this mammoth task, Tupur, lets in, "looking good comes from feeling good about yourself. At the end of the day a model is a clothes hanger and clothes wont look good if you are not comfortable in them and you won't be comfortable if you don't feel good about yourself.... and of course you cant be choosy about what you model."
Just before you drop dinner here's an advice, Tapur says, "at the end of the day you need to be fit and not just thin and being fit is not about starving yourself." That's not all Tupur avers, "you need to be humble always you cannot be a supermodel if you don't have a head over your shoulders." So keep all that in mind before you head for that special portfolio shoot.
