Some coffees have an aspirational value. These are pricey and if you get a chance to try it, don't say no! Here are some of the most expensive coffees in the world...
Kopi Luwak:
This one's interesting...It comes from the islands of Indonesia. Kopi means 'coffee' in Indonesian, Luwak is 'the animal'.
This coffee comes from the faeces of the South American Cat - the Palm Asian Civet.

The berries of this coffee are not plucked from the tree. They are eaten by the South American Cat. While its food is digested, the berries are not.
They pass out in the faeces. They are then treated hygienically and produced as coffee!
Price: Rs 1800 a cup!
Hacienda La Esmeralda:
Comes from Panama and is one of the most expensive coffees in the world. It has a mild flavour of citrus fruits and blueberries and goes great with a muffin or a shortcake.

Price: 104 dollars a pound
Jamaican Blue Mountain Coffee:
Is one of the more popularly known single origin coffees. That means it comes from one single plantation. So it's very expensive and high quality.

Price: 49 dollars a pound / Rs 420 to Rs 500 a cup!
Monsoon Malabar:
Here's a nice single origin coffee from India! Grown down south, this is very full bodied, flavoursome and aromatic. You must try it.
