The Humble Opinion

Aah, thank you folks for the support and analysis. Yes, you are right, I am about as animated as a stoned rock! (get it, stoned rock!?) Ok I am as funny as a funeral as well. What can I say, when God made me, the mould was already a broken one...
But the thing is, I am what you can call in technical terms, a newbie. Before ATW I had never really done a TV show. A few interviews here 'n' there but never a full-fledged 17-hours camera-in-your-face ED-TV-esque shoot.
So, to look animated was as tough as being natural. And then, when one is eating his way daily through more meals than are served by all the Chinese Takeaways and Indian Baltis combined in London, to look natural becomes a rare talent.
No, I am not trying to explain my lack of expression, nor am I touting my superfluous ability to part-emote and I am definitely not scouting for sympathy. But do let me know if you feel things improve as the show goes on...
Apart from that, I must say that Finland and Sweden were fascinating places. The happiest country in the world and yet so empty. Maybe that is why people were happy! With lesser pesky people getting in your face, who wouldn't be happy?
I remember landing in Helsinki the week of the Grand Prix. All hotels were jam-packed and to get a room was like fighting for a seat on the 6:40 Virar Fast.
And it seemed near-ironic as when we had landed in Istanbul it was a similar situation and once again we had been left clambering for accommodation.
Helsinki was a nice place, we drove around quite a bit and even got a hefty parking ticket. (This was right next to the open market where I tried berries and local food, especially the reindeer with Lingen-berry jam.)
We parked incorrectly on the roadside and I knew it coming well before and was surprised that it actually took so long. But Puneet, my loving director, is a true Indian and he didn't think much of a little 'No Parking' sign when he asked me pull into the spot.
Which was a pity really because the car was parked incorrectly for almost six hours and every hour one of us went to check for cops and it was only half an hour before we left that we got a ticket.
Turku was a quiet little town and our arrival could have made headlines. I don't think they have seen that many Indians together ever, or will, for a while. Anyways, not any who talk about their rivers with such a lack of enthusiasm.
The cruise-ride from Turku to Sweden was quite an experience. I remember not sleeping much at all. How can you when there is a night-long party on-board?
People of all shapes and sizes crawling through every level of the ship...great stuff.
The morning view at sunrise is truly spectacular and I recommend seeing Stockholm by the rays of the rising sun. It has a bleak yet scenic appeal about it. And now, (borrowing from my favourite author ever) I leave you all with a deep, deep question...how many roads must a man walk down?
