Facing the camera is not easy, especially when you happen to be the anchor of the show. At first I thought I would glide through, but when we shot the first pilot, I was scared stiff.

I realised that it wasn't about acting, it was something tougher, where you are supposed to be guileless and yet you have to perform. And I have no qualms in accepting the fact that I lacked that skill and that it was a scary thought to play the host in a television chat show.

We shot another pilot after a couple of weeks, I was marginally better - but still quite rigid.

This was indeed tricky. I was supposed to speak to the camera and say things like, “There is more to come but…after the break” and other such mutterings. “This ain't easy,” I told myself, but I had to do it somehow. And then something happened when we shot the first schedule - I had eased a little and enjoyed talking to the guests on the show.

Eureka! Easy chatting on camera, that's all I had to do. I broke the Da Vinci code finally.

As a matter of fact, I loved talking to the guests on the show, there were so many of them - three to a show.

I met a whole lot of interesting people, mortals like us… people with issues like, “My wife earns more than I do” or “We are married but we never get to spend enough time with each other, my spouse is a television addict.”

For some 'big age difference' was the glitch in the relationship. There were varied view points as well, while some looked at these issues as problems, others shrugged their shoulders and asked, “what's the big deal dude.”
