They say fashion keeps changing by the minute. Back in the 90s, it was a style statement to add a dash of Indian-ness to your outfit - sport a Bindi, wear a Choodi, and so on. And surprisingly, this hasn't changed one bit! In fact, people across the world are increasingly getting drawn to ethnic Indian fashion! So before you get busy shopping at your favourite firangi fashion stores this extended weekend, here's a list of 7 Indian fashion staples that have always been a superhit in the West:

Number 7
Morjaris - Morjaris made it to this list thanks to late designer Alexander McQueen who gave them a special spot in his Fall Winter show in 2008.

Number 6
Mehendi - If you did not notice the mehndi on Madonna's hands in the video 'Frozen,' you haven't lived the 90's!

Number 5
Toe Rings - Tell your grandma the likes of Britney Spears, Kim Kardashian and Jennifer Aniston are going gaga over the 'Bichiyas' she got as a wedding gift. No, seriously!

Number 4
Bangles - Remember Kate Beckinsale in those gorgeous diamond Amrapali kadas? Or teen sensation Bella Thorne's bangles at the MTV Movie awards? No? Go Google it!

Number 3
Bindi - While Gwen Stefani made a statement donning a bindi in the 90s, Selena Gomez seems to be the latest one to have joined the bindi bandwagon!

Number 2
Nose Ring/Stud - Christina Aguilera, Demi Lovato, Miley Cyrus, Pink.. do we need to say more?

Number 1
Sari - Who can forget a sari-clad Victoria Beckham on the cover of Vogue? Or the number of celebs who have been spotted wearing a sari - Anne Hathway, Eva Mendes, Jessica Alba, Catherine Heigl, Liz Hurley, Venus and Serena Williams - the list is endless!
