A legacy of touching lives

With over 10,000 beds across 43 hospitals, the Apollo Hospitals Group is the largest healthcare provider in the whole of Asia.

However the story that lies behind the numbers is no less vital. We have touched over 10 million lives. True to its founding principles, the group has made quality healthcare here and now for people in India, and even overseas. A legacy that stems from the pillars of the Apollo philosophy - experience, excellence and expertise.

Apollo Hospitals Group today is an integrated healthcare organization with service offerings that include healthcare at the patient’s doorstep, clinical & diagnostic services, medical business process outsourcing, third party administration services and health insurance.

To enhance performance and service to customers, the company also makes available the services to support business; telemedicine services, education and training programmes & research services and a host of not-for-profit projects.

Today twenty five years later the story of Apollo Hospitals is a saga that is synonymous with India's rise as a hub in global medicine.

At Apollo, doctors from every medical specialty work together under a common philosophy which is to serve the needs of the patient first.

Over 4000 specialists and super-specialists and 3000 medical officers spanning 53 clinical departments in patient care work round the clock to impart path breaking procedures and techniques alongside centuries-old traditions of eastern care and warmth.

In fact every facet of its operations reflects the ethos of Apollo's stated mission to "… achieve and maintain excellence in education, research and healthcare for the benefit of humanity".

Answer : Dear Mr Anshu mishra
Here are a few tips to help you:
•Reduce calories: you need fewer calories to maintain former body weight and at the same time increase level of activity or exercise.
•Eat a balanced diet. Avoid refined sugars and indulge in fruits and vegetables. Choose foods low in fat, saturated fat, and cholesterol. Women of all ages should consume 40 grams of fiber daily.
•Portion Control. Eat slowly and practice portion control - this does not mean you have to eliminate your favorite foods. Just eat smaller quantities.
•Avoid crash or fad diets. Starvation will only cause your metabolism to slow down, causing you to gain more weight later on.
•Maintain adequate intake of fluid: So many of the bodily functions rely on the body being adequately hydrated. Drinking 8 to 10 glasses daily is ideal and you can also include coconut water, lime water, home made soup etc to increase fluid intake.
•Don’t lose large amounts of weight. There is a balance between being too thin and just right. Being very thin can lead to an increased chance of developing osteoporosis.
•Increase your physical activity. Exercise becomes particularly important as a woman ages. Women who are physically inactive are more likely to suffer from coronary heart disease, obesity, high blood pressure, diabetes, and osteoporosis.

Do aerobics to increase your metabolism and burn fat. Do weight bearing activities such as walking and cycling to increase muscle mass and ward off osteoporosis. When women diet to lose weight after menopause, they will not be able to continue to lose weight unless exercise is added to the daily routine. But, you must exercise consistently, preferably daily. Start with 5 minutes of walking each day and work to gradually increase the duration of whatever exercise you are doing. Work to increase your exercise time to 30 minutes daily

Thank you.
