About the show :
Dog is man's best friend. But thus far there has been no television show in India dedicated to pets.

Heavy Petting has changed that. On this weekly show, dogs, cats, fish, birds, rabbits, snakes, all creatures big and small, find their way into our hearts and homes.

Heavy Petting, celebrates pets through features, news, biographies, blogs, and humorous moments.

Hosted by actress and animal lover Seema Rahmani, this first of its kind show, invites people to share stories about their adored pets.

There is also a vet segment that answers pet-related queries and a celebrity pet segment that features celebs and their beloved furry friends.

This is about Cyrus, He is a 2 Year old Dalmation. We are based in chennai. For the past year and a half he has been having this skin issue. His skin is lumpy, he has patches on his coat and there is redness in these areas. We have been taking him to various vets here but there has been no improvement. A lot of the vets suggested that we put him on steroids, and we did. The skin seems to get better when he is on steroids but goes back once we stop. We also have his mom and 3 of his other siblings with us and this skin problem does not effect them. Can you please suggest what to do?

Someone left 6 bitches under my car a few months back. And I started giving them food sometimes. But the residents here are not willing to treat them well. Also other dogs bite them very often. My questions are
1. Where can I send them so that they can be safe?
2. At what minimum age they can be sterlized?

I will wait for your answer and surely hope you will provide a good solution.

Thanks

Sir, I have a question. I have a male lab around 9 months and a German Shepherd Female of around 8 months. Initially I fed them with Royal Canin for their early growth. and now I have started pedigree chicken and milk. Apart from this I feed them beef weekly about 1 kg each. Can I continue this. And another question my felame GS when it will attain puberty at what age. Please let me know. So that I can keep them apart at that particular period. And when I should take her for crossing. Thanks and regards.

Hello Doctor,

I am a mother of 11 months old baby boy. We have an Irish Setter at home who is about 5 years old. She is loved by our family a lot. But I always fear how her equation would be with my young one. I took lot of precautions when he was a kid but now when he has started walking, it is difficult to keep him locked in one room and so is the case with the dog. He tries to go and touch or pinch her or tries to pull her hair, but what I've heard is dogs might warn them but will not hurt. I also fear that in their rough play she [the dog] might just knock down my boy. Please suggest, how hygenic is it to have a dog around in house with a toddler and also if there is no harm what all precautionary measures we should take. Would appreciate your views.

Regards,
Vedika
