Dr Shikha Sharma

completed medicine from Maulana Azad Medical College in 1992. Thereafter she worked in the Department of Cardiology as a Junior Resident in GB Pant Hospital. It was there that the desire to work in Preventive Medicine emerged.

She was awarded the "Talented Ladies Award" by the Bharat Nirman Society in the year 1999. She has been felicitated by FICCI with "Young achievers award" in the year 2006.

Question : hello doctor, i dr. toshila, a dental professional. i m 24 yr old, unmarried. my height is 5ft 4". right now my weight is 63kgs. my bmr is low. i m a bit foody. i hate fast food n junk food. my diet is normal. my query is dat my weight is very fluctuating. last yr my weight wz 64 kgs. i had reduced it to 52 kgs in 6 months by exercise only. after i left exercise, again i put on weight. n due to busy schedule of clinics, cnt work out regularly. kindly plz suggest m a good diet plan. kind reguards. thnk u. waitg 4 rep.

Answer : Dear Dr.Toshila
Always remember that follow that kind of exercise that you can follow for longer period of time. Don't go for very vigorous exercise, otherwise when you stopped it, the metabolism of your body will react reversely.Go for brisk walk for at least 30 -45mins a day. Include lots of fiber in your diet in the form of oat bran, wheat bran and ragi ata. Have vegetables juice early in the morning.
