Dr Shikha Sharma

completed medicine from Maulana Azad Medical College in 1992. Thereafter she worked in the Department of Cardiology as a Junior Resident in GB Pant Hospital. It was there that the desire to work in Preventive Medicine emerged.

She was awarded the "Talented Ladies Award" by the Bharat Nirman Society in the year 1999. She has been felicitated by FICCI with "Young achievers award" in the year 2006.

At present Dr. Shikha is member of the Governing Body of Maietry College, New Delhi. AND SHE AND HER TEAM are here to answer your queries!

hi.... im a 20 yr old girl n i weigh 54 kgs n my height is 5ft 2 inches. i hv d tendency to put on weight on my hips as i hv long study hours. plus i hv bulkier arms which make me consious. n usually dnt get time to workout. what changes should i bring in my diet to avoid gaining weight n live a healthy life. i eat meals 3 or 4 times a day n im vegetarian

Hello,
I am 25 yrs old married women. My height is 5ft 1". i weigh 49kgs.
i do not have much of physical activity in the whole day. My routine starts with a cup of tea with either 1 khakhra or half bhakris, (in short not heavy Breakfast), then for lunch i have 2 rotis with veg and dal(at times), rice once/twice a week.recently i have started having one fresh juice a day. at around 5.00 again half cup of tea. then dinner at around 9.00 roti n veg. on weekends i go to good restaurants, junk foods, pizzas n everything to the fullest. but i dont think i am having a balanced diet. i get tired very easily. n dont get sleep early in the nights.

my physical activity is also nothing. i travel by car to my workplace. sit 6 hours a day in the same place at the work. n come home do bit of cookin n cleaning ...

i get tired too easily... my stamina is weak...

i have a problem with my body structure ... my lower body is comparatively bigger than the upper body:)..

i am a foodie .. n enjoy eating different cuisine .. but do not wat is healthy n wat not ..

i really want to embibe in me the right food habits.

hello doctor, i dr. toshila, a dental professional. i m 24 yr old, unmarried. my height is 5ft 4". right now my weight is 63kgs. my bmr is low. i m a bit foody. i hate fast food n junk food. my diet is normal. my query is dat my weight is very fluctuating. last yr my weight wz 64 kgs. i had reduced it to 52 kgs in 6 months by exercise only. after i left exercise, again i put on weight. n due to busy schedule of clinics, cnt work out regularly. kindly plz suggest m a good diet plan. kind reguards. thnk u. waitg 4 rep.

Hi,

I'm Vishal working in a Software company in pune. I find myself over weight 83kgs comparing my height 5.6. I will start my workout next week and thinking of going for swimming as well. But due to my hectic schedules I find very less time for above activities. Could you help me out for a routine diet which will help me reduce my weight?
