I'M TOO SEXY FOR MY SHOES!
Amongst the many Italian fashion brands, one that stands out for it's flamboyance, glamour and dramatic sex appeal is Roberto Cavalli.
To get an insight on Brand Cavalli, our in-house Fashion Consultant Mohan Neelkantan caught up with the 68-year-old master couturier...
Mohan: How does it feel like to be in India?
Cavalli: I love India. It's fantastic. I was here before. I was here maybe 30 years ago first time but last was ten years ago. And now welcome to the Just Cavalli store in Delhi!
Mohan: So what is the difference between a Roberto Cavalli woman and a Just Cavalli woman?
Cavalli: First is the price. Second, Roberto Cavalli is glamour, a little bit high fashion, very special and sophisticated.
Just Cavalli, is young, price is a little below, is aggressive, sexy and I think every girl would love to have it and look fantastic.
Mohan: So it's for the mother and the daughter...
Cavalli: For the mother and the daughter, that's right! I became famous for my animal print
I propose it for the girl from all over the world, not just someone younger.
And my special Cavalli jeans are a perfect combination for my animal print.
You can imagine a beautiful Indian girl, with black hair and black eyes wearing my animal print...Oh my God!
Mohan: She will be the belle of the party! Nature has always fascinated you...Is Africa one of your favourite countries?
Cavalli: Much of the time. Yeah, I just came back from Africa a few weeks ago.
Mohan: Who's your favourite Bollywood actress who you would like to dress?
Cavalli: I love Deepika Padukone. She's wonderful. I designed a sari for her for the red carpet in Cannes.
Mohan: What do you think of Indian prints?
Cavalli: Indian prints are classic. Honestly, every time I start to work on a new collection, I have hundreds of books and I start every time from Indian fashion, Indian print to see if I can get some idea because India is my inspiration.
Mohan: So what is exciting Roberto Cavalli these days?
Cavalli: My last collection...few weeks ago Milano very light leather, very light that is like gloss with silk print! My next opening, end of April, is the most fantastic club restaurant in Dubai.
Mohan: So hopefully, maybe the next will be in India?
Cavalli: I promise, I love you!
